NOTE: Keep in mind, you may want to paint a border around the top of your gourd. You may also want to add beads at a later date. Refer to the samples in the photo above.
CLASS SUPPLIES NEEDED
- A cleaned gourd, any shape will do. Either leave it natural or paint the outside with acrylic white, probably two coats for good coverage. (I like Americana Folkart paint.) If you’d like, you can paint the inside black.
- Flexible Ruler
- Scissors
- Eraser
- Compass
- Apron
- Stylus (or pen that has no ink) Fine tip
- Identi Pen (Many of you already have a pen, so they will be available to purchase if you do not already have one for $2.50
- REMEMBER to bring your “Always have with you items.”

CLASS SUPPLIES NMGS WILL PROVIDE
- Soft 2B pencil (recommended for shading on your Zentangle design ( notice the shading on the white sample)
- Small Tortillion blending stump
- Saral paper for transferring your pattern onto your gourd (In white or black)
- Patterns (If you have a particular pattern you want to use, you may want to bring it)
