Twyla Caudill

I am a Native New Mexican (born and raised right here in Albuquerque) from the 1960’s. Being a divorced mother of three kids, I started doing crafts to help relieve stress. I started with necklaces, earrings, and such, in Indian Seed Beads and progressed from there. I currently work full-time as an Image Analyst/Cartographic Editor with digital aerial photography at Pacific Western Technologies and spend my free time doing gourds.

I became interested in gourds about two years ago when my mother asked me to join her at one of Lynne’s classes. After we took another class, I purchased some gourds from a local grower here in Albuquerque and just started playing with them. When my company (PWT) started doing some re-organization, I had quite a lot of time on my hands. Gourds really helped me make it through that time and I have found a style that I really like doing. Working with gourds, horseshoes and feathers really stirs up my creative mind. I now have a business license and have gone to several arts and crafts shows.
