Using egg gourds, some of the new line of gourd stains, pyrography, and other techniques, Dar Stone will teach you how to create her intricate and whimsical southwest-themed ornaments that are sure to please. An added bonus are the woodburning skills you will learn in this workshop that can be used on any gourd.
Joy Zuehls uses buffalo gourds and a variety of embellishments to make her unusual Christmas ornaments. You will learn to make these beautiful decorations for personalized and inexpensive gifts.
All the techniques in this workshop can also be used to make a stunning and unique wreath that says “welcome” to friends and family to your home or for a one-of-a-kind special gift.

A Juried Art Show
July 3-28 at the Arts Alliance Gallery
Gourd art at it’s finest!
The New Mexico Gourd Society Members are displaying their work in our “first ever” gallery show. This is a juried art show at the Arts Alliance Gallery at Lomas and San Mateo in Albuquerque. The show runs from July 3-28 and the gallery will be open 10-5 Monday through Friday. This is an exciting gallery experience for all of our members. They are exhibiting their finest gourd work and are giving the public a unique and diverse show with both functional and artistic gourd creations. Everything from gourd bowls and vessels, figures, masks, free-form pieces, musical instruments, jewelry etc, are on display.
The Arts Alliance Gallery is located on the northeast corner of Lomas and San Mateo across from Mama's Minerals.
Come and join is at the reception on July 18th at the Arts Alliance Gallery from 5 PM to 8 PM.
