Gina Twofeathers is a multitalented artist, originally from California, and now living on the Isleta Pueblo Reservation. She has been designing and creating one of a kind and unique art pieces. With an educational background in design, she not only draws inspiration from her native heritage and nature, but also combines several techniques, woodcarving, pyrography, dye manipulation, painting, and inlay. She enjoys doing mixed media incorporating three dimensional carving and utilizing a variety of feathers, beads, shells, natural gemstones, sterling silver forever expanding on designing something picturesque and original. Gina grows many of her own gourds at her home in Isleta Pueblo, NM. She has written a gourd book, The Native Gourd: Techniques and Projects/Seed Growing to the Finished Gourd. Currently, she is working on two more books: Native Dolls/Sculptural Forms and Masks, Jewelry, and More. As a gourd art instructor, Gina, has a loyal following of students. She hopes to continue to inspire and creatively pursue the world of gourds and gourd art.
