Pierre L. Nichols, resident of Silver City New Mexico, is an accomplished gourd artist with over twenty years of experience in gourd work. Living close to the Mimbres Valley has inspired him to create beauitful art featuring the distinctive designs of the ancient Mimbres Culture. His technique of intricate pyrography and placement of images both on vessels and story masks, has awarded him 1st place ribbons in national and state competitions. He is an avid student of the ancient cultures and a member of the Grant County Archeological Society, American Gourd Society, New Mexico Gourd Society, Arizona Gourd Society and the Texas Gourd Society.
